Regional manager Mike Schien was
recently honored with Karmak's Salesperson of the Year award for the fiscal year
1999-2000. Mike cited his customer base sales as a significant factor in his success this
past year. "I'm fortunate in that I have a lot of customers who continue to grow well beyond what most would consider the industry average growth rate of 5 to 10%
annually."

by Richard Schien, President, Karmak, Inc.
| For several months now, we have been focusing our Sales Department on building and maintaining stronger relationships with our existing customers. Hopefully, many of you have already seen the fruits of these initial efforts. INFO 5 Tips
-
Did you know you can access G/L
periods older than the prior year from Menu AGL07?
Several options were added to the G/L Past Period Archive
Menu (Menu AGL07) as part of Release 6.0,
allowing you to access the G/L information from any previous year as
long as that information still resides on your AS/400. For more
information, see Chapter 10 of the G/L
Manual.*
-
Tighten security with this tip. A command is available on the AS/400 to control when a user can and cannot sign on to the System. Enter
CHGACTSCDE <CMD-4> on the Command Line.
You can now enter a user profile and specify the time and days the user is allowed to sign on to the System. You may limit the what the user has access to on the AS/400 by changing the user profile and entering
*YES in the Limit Capabilities field. When the profile has this coding, the user can only execute menu options. They do not have authority to enter commands on the Command Line.
*To access this link, enter
your Customer Confidential user name and password. To receive your user

Legend Tips
- The Repair Order Status Code in Repair Order Entry/Processing (RS120)
is used to define the state of the repair order. There are several reserved (pre-defined) status codes:
| C - Closed |
O - Open |
| H - On hold |
I - Ready to invoice |
| S - Sublet job/operation |
B - Holding for backordered parts |
You are able to define up to nine status codes by using the file REPAIR:ROSTAT.DAT.
The setting of Branch Option File line 126 determines whether you are prompted for a status code when creating a repair order.
- You can request open repair orders by status code when scrolling in
Repair Order Entry/Processing (RS120) and Request Repair Order Summary (RS180) to minimize the number of repair orders that you see.
