  Karmak training: Legend - INFO 5 - ProfitMaker

Legend
The Legend Training Center schedule is now available for 2003. We are offering our most popular workshops at Karmak Headquarters in Carlinville, Illinois, as well as regional training in the Chicago area this spring. A two-day course regarding our new ProfitMaster™ Sales Management program is tentatively planned pending customer interest. Karmak forms a strategic alliance with Reynolds

Karmak has entered into a long-term, strategic alliance with Reynolds and Reynolds Co., the leading provider of integrated solutions with 75 years of experience serving automotive retailing, where helping automotive retailers manage change and improve their profitability is their first priority. Through the alliance, Karmak will contract with Reynolds to provide integrated solutions for Web services, on-site network and hardware support, and retailer documents. The two companies will also cooperate in the distribution of integrated management system solutions to dealers holding both auto and truck franchises.

2002 Dealers' Conference another success for Legend & INFO 5 dealers

of 2002. The conference theme this year was

ProfitMaster

ProfitMaster Sales Management now in beta testing
New module for Legend, INFO 5, and ProfitMaker systems progressing smoothly

Three Karmak customers are currently running the new ProfitMaster Sales Management module as part of the beta testing phase. Effingham Truck Sales in Illinois, Peterbilt of Springfield in Missouri, and Truck Centers in Illinois and Missouri are using the new program, which provides comprehensive deal and inventory tracking in a user-friendly Windows environment.  

"We're getting good feedback," said John Lebel, Director of Research and Design for ProfitMaster and ProfitMaker. "They like how easy the program is to learn and use."  

ProfitMaster Sales Management is scheduled for general release for Legend and INFO 5 systems in 2003, with a version for ProfitMaker systems to follow. For more on Sales Management's features and benefits, visit our ProfitMaster web page, or contact your Karmak regional manager.

Legend Best Payroll update

Due to the large number of Legend Payroll users who are following our lead to Best's Abra Payroll package, we have partnered with Delphia Consulting to provide information and services regarding Best's Abra software. Delphia is the number one Value Added Reseller for Best Abra Suite® and Best Abra Enterprise™ software in the world. They provide nationwide training, as well as setup and installation of Best software. Karmak's partnership with Best Software and Delphia Consulting offers Legend users access to the leading specialists in payroll and human resource management.

INFO 5 Post 7.1 Update Cumulative PTF 

The INFO 5 Post 7.1 Update Cumulative PTF (Program Temporary Fix) is now available. This PTF contains several fixes and enhancements since Release 7.1. The most important enhancement involves implementation of the Tennessee General Fund Tax.

ProfitMaker 1.1.8 update

The ProfitMaker 1.1.8 patch will be available soon. This patch contains several fixes and new features, including:

  • Improved QuickBooks export functions, including new options to turn off the posting of labor costs, and export by Company Name or Customer Number. 
  • Updates to several reports
  • Additional options to print comments, complaint, cause, correction, components, or name/certification number on invoices
  • Support for printing bar code receiving tags on DYMO LabelWriter 315 and Zebra LP2742 printers

When the patch is available, it will be posted on the ProfitMaker Updates website, and an announcement will be sent to all ProfitMaker customers.

Important notice for ProfitMaker users running QuickBooks

If you are receiving error messages in QuickBooks such as "Action Canceled," or "The page cannot be displayed," it may be due to a problem with Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Microsoft® Windows XP Service Pack 1 (SP1). See the QuickBooks Knowledge Base website for troubleshooting solutions.


New regional manager joins Karmak Sales team

Larry O'Connor
Larry O'Connor recently joined Karmak as the regional manager for the Northeast U.S. region. Larry comes to Karmak with extensive transportation industry experience, including more than 20 years as general manager of multiple dealerships, franchises, and distributorships. He also has more than 10 years of sales management and training experience, including seven years as group consultant and meeting coordinator. Larry will cover Virginia, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, New Hampshire, New York, and Washington DC.

Brent Higgins is Karmak's Salesperson of the Year

Brent Higgins was recently honored as Karmak's Salesperson of the Year for the fiscal year 2001-2002. Brent came to Karmak 1-1/2 years ago with more than 25 years of sales management experience in the heavy-duty truck industry. 

"What has impressed me most about Karmak is the commitment and teamwork of all the staff," Brent said. "This is paramount to our success in the field."

A native of Southern Ohio, Brent holds a B.A. degree in Business Administration from Morehead State University. He is Karmak's regional manager for Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Lower Michigan.

The Karmak Kitchen 2002 Cookbook is filled with over 275 culinary creations from Karmak. This culinary creativity has been handed down from generations -- from both relatives and friends. It includes over 50 pages of little extras -- cooking tips, charts, and information on everything from nutrition to how to throw the perfect dinner party.

The $12.00 cost of the Cookbook raises funds for charitable projects in our community. Shipping is $3.00 per book.

Legend, INFO 5 - Receiving free parts from the vendor
