phase, ProfitMaster Sales Management went into general release on
March 31, 2003, and is now available for Legend and INFO 5
business systems. Sales Management offers you many new features in
an easy-to-use Microsoft® Windows interface that will
help you save you time, increase sales, and manage every deal.

tracking every aspect of a unit's history--from order inception
until the unit is back on trade-in. Get detailed sales analysis

Karmak recently previewed Customer
Profile Interface, the newest module in the ProfitMaster series, at the
Mid-America Trucking Show, in Louisville, KY.
|
|
|
Customer Profile Interface is designed to help dealers and distributors focus on the
needs of their customers. Dealerships and distributors recognize
the need to build and maintain customer relationships, and they
understand the value of the information needed to build those
relationships. Karmak's new Customer Profile Interface makes
gathering and viewing this information easy.

5 Caterpillar module
available

A new version of the INFO 5 system's
Caterpillar module is now available, making it even easier for you
to do business with your Caterpillar distributor -- without ever
"leaving the comfort" of your own INFO 5 business
system.
The current version of our Caterpillar
module contains many time saving and profit enhancing features,
such as warranty and stock order download. However, we have
totally reengineered the parts ordering and parts
pricing/information maintenance processes.

Volvo Warranty Download is a useful module
for INFO 5 that allows you to transmit warranty claim information
to your Volvo PC so that it can then be sent to Volvo Corporate

OpenVMS compatible
with Intel's Itanium processors

On January 31, 2003, Hewlett Packard (HP) engineers booted OpenVMS on an Itanium-based computer for the first time. OpenVMS is the operating system required by Karmak’s Legend software, which currently runs only on
VAX and Alpha-based systems. Compatibility with the Intel Itanium processor family ensures that OpenVMS will outlive the Alpha processor, which HP plans to phase out over the next decade. This development also ensures that Legend customers will easily make the transition when the Itanium becomes generally available. Here are some facts:

names new Regional Manager
|
Kathy Cronin |
Kathy
Cronin was recently named Karmak's newest Regional
Manager, covering Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Nebraska,
Kansas, and southern Iowa. Kathy joined Karmak 2-1/2 years
ago as an Applications Consultant, where she traveled
throughout the continent, assisting customers with all
aspects of the Legend system. Her background includes
coordinating the Legend system as System Administrator for a
large truck dealership, and she has extensive experience in
the trucking, financial, and computer system industries.

to manage Customer Services for ProfitMaster and ProfitMaker
|
Barbara Mitchell |
Karmak recently promoted Barbara
Mitchell to manage and facilitate ProfitMaster and ProfitMaker
products in Customer Service at Karmak's Carlinville office. Mitchell's responsibilities
include the implementation and support of the Windows-based
product series, which is made up of ProfitMaker, ProfitMaster's Sales Management, Customer Profile Interface,
and Bar Code Receiving. In her new position, Mitchell oversees
six ProfitMaster and ProfitMaker Services individuals, all
specializing in either technical service, applications, or
customer service, in addition to continuing to manage Legend
training and new accounts.

Peggy Dorris

| Peggy Dorris was
recently named Information Resource Services Manager
at Karmak. In her new position, Dorris is responsible
for internal training, quality assurance, and
documentation for Legend, the new ProfitMaster series,
and future product developments. With responsibility
for 10 staff members, Dorris also continues as the
Carlinville conference coordinator. |

of INFO 5 Training |
Jerry Cain |
Jerry Cain, of Karmak's
Springfield office, was recently named as Manager of INFO 5
Quality Assurance, Documentation, and Training. For several
years he has been managing QA and documentation only. In the new training portion of his position, Cain is responsible for training customers in classes conducted at Karmak, in one-on-one situations, and in regional training classes.

promotion, Rick Salvador was named Manager of INFO 5
Customer Services by Karmak. With his latest
advancement, Salvador is responsible for maintaining

satisfaction. |

ProfitMaker
- critical updates
It is important to complete Microsoft
Windows critical updates to enhance performance of ProfitMaker.
We recommend that you perform these updates once a month on
each computer that has ProfitMaker installed so that the
software will function properly. The updates are simple and all
that is required is an Internet connection. Please verify
that the updates you are loading are compatible with other important
software you may be running on your PC. Check with your software
vendor to ensure compatibility.
To load Windows Updates:
Click your Start button
on your computer and then click Windows Update. This
automatically takes you to Microsoft's Internet site to download
the update.
If you are running Windows XP (without
Classic Mode set), click Start, All Programs, and
then Windows Update.
