| Karmak's
Internet Parts Sales software allows users to expand
market share |
|
|
Karmak announces the
release of ProfitMaster® Internet Parts Sales,
an Internet-based software solution designed for dealers
and distributors to receive parts orders from customers
over the Internet. The easy-to-use software can be
seamlessly integrated into the Karmak business system to
expand market share beyond the physical location of your
business.
From parts search to checkout
Divided into Retail and Administrative environments, Internet
Parts Sales enables customers to place parts orders with a click
of the mouse. The system allows customers to search for parts,
check price and availability, create and maintain a shopping cart,
and checkout.
Customer permissions are controlled by
system settings and pre-established accounts within the business
system. To ensure security and efficiency, the system is designed
with a 30 minute timeout feature.
System efficiency
From setup to sales, the Administrative environment is designed
for use by dealer or distributor in-house personnel. This
environment provides flexibility in controlling which customers
may purchase via the Internet.
When your customer enters selection
criteria, parts information will be retrieved on demand from the
Karmak business system. Parts pricing for a customer, along with
availability, is controlled by the business system. Once a
customer completes the checkout process, the business system
processes and fulfills the orders, emailing an acknowledgement
back to the customer.

Sales, visit our website,

Speed
up parts orders with Remote Parts
Sales software
Karmak is releasing Remote
Parts Sales, which allows you to place parts orders at
customer locations and any other location using bar code
technology.
To speed up your parts
order processing, Remote Parts Sales uses bar code
scanners to take the worry out of data collection. The bar
code technology conveys precise data by eliminating data
entry errors and the need to decipher handwriting.
With Remote Parts Sales,
you can keep track of orders as you visit customers.
Whether you enter multiple orders for one customer or one
order for many different customers, your orders are saved
in the handheld PC. The software allows customer or item
numbers to be accurately scanned or manually entered onto
an order.
Once a customer number,
purchase order, and one or more parts numbers have been
scanned or entered, the order can be sent from a wireless
network or USB dock to the Karmak business system and
created as a parts sales order. Prior to transmitting,
orders can be saved on the handheld PC and easily reopened
later for editing. Then, orders can be called in,
transmitted from any wireless "hot spot," or
transferred once you return to your office or hotel room.
Visit the Remote
Parts Sales web page, contact your Karmak
Regional Manager, or call 800-622-6311 for more information.

INFO 5 tip: Have you checked your problem log
lately?
On a regular basis, you should do the
following:
From the command line, type WRKPRB
<enter>
Review the list for any hardware 'Problem
Descriptions' that could indicate attention needed. Specifically, if you
see a description such as "*ATTENTION* Contact your hardware
service provider now." contact Karmak Systems Support at 800-865-8991
or
for assistance.
One of the items that can cause this
problem occurs on certain iSeries™ servers that are over 3 years old.
The problem is a failing cache battery. The write cache provides greater
data integrity and improved performance. When the iSeries™ server sends
a write operation, the data is written to the cache. Then, a
write-completion message is sent back to the server. Later, the data is
written to the disk. If the cache battery fails, normal operations can
take 2-6 times as long as usual.
The good news is that the the iSeries™
will send warning messages for 3 months prior to failure. However, to see
the warning, you need to be looking at your problem log as detailed above.
