What's new at Karmak?

ProfitMaster Sales Management 1.6 in general release

ProfitMaster Sales Management Version 1.6 is now available for general release. The program includes many enhancements to streamline deal processing and maintenance procedures, track expenses and commissions, and improve program performance. Here are just a few highlights of the new release:

  • Deal Maintenance—Reduce the number of steps to turn a deal into a deal packet with a new option to bypass the deal contract requirement. When the first packet is created, the deal status is set to Deal-Contract and the contract date is set to the current date.
  • Quote Units from Template Unit allows you to select a unit already on the deal or a sold unit as a template and use the template to easily add units to a deal. This enhancement makes it fast and easy to build fleet deals.
  • After Sales Expenses—Easily post and track cost-only unit and deal add-ons. After sales expenses are included in the sales analysis and profit calculations for the deal packet record and are included in commission calculations for add-ons that pay commission. You can post multiple add-ons to the deal packet and void the after sales expenses that have been posted.
  • Accounting Review now has an option to use the stock number of the first unit as the control number when posting to Deal Packet Accounting.
  • Auto Update saves time by automatically downloading and installing minor upgrades to the ProfitMaster application without the need to manually download and install at each user’s PC.

In addition, numerous software and report issues have been addressed to improve functionality and reduce errors.

Expand your market with Sales Management and SOARR

Sold On ArrivalAn enhanced interface to SOARR (Sold on Arrival) internet truck marketing service, is now available with ProfitMaster 1.6. SOARR’s web service combined with Sales Management allows you to quickly post and maintain inventory on the web and sell through more than 14 truck and trailer locator sites.

  • Update inventory to the web at the click of a button
  • Maximize exposure across multiple websites
  • Web development by heavy-duty specialists is available
  • No additional charge for interface for ProfitMaster and SOARR customers

The enhanced interface also allows you to copy pictures and other attached documents from ProfitMaster to SOARR to easily market and sell your inventory.

New Customer Confidential website now online—request your password today

UPDATED Oct. 12, 2007

Many enhancements have been made to our exclusive customer website, Customer Confidential, which is now available to all Karmak customers. This site is designed as a one-stop resource for Karmak announcements, contacts, training and conference schedules, documentation, discussion boards, literature on new products and services, and more. In addition, you can to customize the site to display portions that are relevant to your company and set up e-mail alerts that notify you when a section has been updated. Links to Help Desk Live, WebEx Support sessions, and WebEx meeting sessions are also included, as well as INFO 5 update request forms and manuals.

Please contact us to request a new Customer Confidential user name and password. This is a company-wide login and we encourage all in your organization to utilize it. Passwords to the previous Customer Confidential site will become inactive on September. 30, 2007.

Legend, ProfitMaster, and Director Series users may contact Karen Zwicker at or 800-252-7625, or use our online Request Form. INFO 5 clients may contact Heather Gardner at or 800-865-8991, or use our online INFO 5 Request Form. If you already have a user name and password for Help Desk Live, ProfitMaster Discussions, or Director Series Discussions, let us know if you would like access to Customer Confidential, and we can set up the same password for all Karmak sites.

To access the site, click Customer Access on the Karmak.com home page menu, and select Customer Confidential, or go to http://customer.karmak.com. Use the Comments or Questions form on the Customer Confidential home page to send us your feedback on the new site.

Updated bar code cross references available

Working with parts manufacturers, Karmak regularly maintains bar code cross reference files for Karmak business systems. In addition to updating existing records, new manufacturers have been added. For pricing and availability of updated bar code cross files, please contact your Customer Base Sales Representative. Karmak becomes STAR systems provider member

Karmak is now a Retail Systems Provider member of the STAR (Standards for Technology in Automotive Retail) organization. STAR is a nonprofit information technology standards group serving the retail automotive, heavy-duty truck, marine, and sports vehicle industries. STAR’s mission is to drive industry-wide adoption of standards for dealer-to-OEM communication. Participating in STAR will further Karmak's goal of providing quality technology solutions that reduce complexity and cost, while improving accuracy and efficiency of dealership operations. Karmak names Todd Robertson Eastern Area Manager

Todd Robertson recently joined Karmak's sales team as the new Area Manager for the Eastern sales territory. He brings more than 20 years of progressive sales and operations management experience to his new position.
