One of our major goals is to have our sales people visit our customers on a regular basis. Therefore, we have put some tools in place to allow our sales people to be more organized and to allow us to more easily track their progress. This past spring we converted data from two different databases to a centralized GoldMine® database. Each sales person maintains a regional copy of GoldMine then synchronizes at least two or three times per week with our centralized GoldMine database.
We have also improved our sales compensation plan to reward our sales people for staying in contact with their customers on a regular basis.
One more point…we don’t want them to simply “stay in touch” with our customers. We want them to help in the resolution of some problems. We now have a support person assigned to handle issues from our sales people for both Legend and for INFO 5, and they respond to e-mail from our sales people daily.
So the next time you have a visit from one of our sales people (probably fairly soon), please share with them not only your problems but your plans and vision for the future.
