INFO 5 delivery/fuel surcharge option

The upcoming
modification will allow you to set up and implement a
delivery/fuel surcharge by percentage, rather than a flat rate. By
the end of the year, this enhancement will be available to Version
7.2 users via a PTF. The charge will be calculated based on a
user-defined percentage multiplied by either the total of parts on
the invoice or the total pre-tax invoice (including keywords).
The change to add a fuel
surcharge will be controlled by a message member. If the message
member is not set up, then the software will function just as it did
prior to the enhancement. If the message member is set to calculate
a surcharge, the calculation will occur when the user presses
CMD-7 to bill the counter ticket. At that point, the system can
be set to automatically calculate the charge and add an additional
line item. Or the system can be set to prompt the user for whether
or not to add the additional line item. Also, when an existing
ticket is modified, the user will be prompted when they press
CMD-7 to choose whether or not to update the surcharge amount.
In addition to
identifying whether or not the surcharge will be automatically added
or whether the user will be prompted to add the surcharge, the
message member will also control the percentage to be charged and
how the percentage is calculated – P (Based on the total of
parts only) or T (Based on the invoice total, including
keywords).
This enhancement has
been placed on the current list of development projects, and clients
will be notified when the new PTF is available.
