Karmak is in the final stages of testing the new EDI software with two customers, one using HDeXchange (HDX) and the other using Corcentric, as the exchange point for EDI documents. Midwest Wheel, headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa, has been the test customer for HDeXchange and Scientific Brake, headquartered in Saginaw, Michigan, has been the test customer for Corcentric.

Both companies have a direct connection from their business system to the Internet via an electronic device called a WebRamp. This direct connection allows them to send and receive documents such as purchase orders, invoices, sales and product information, including price updates.

By connecting with an exchange service such as HDeXchange or Corcentric, a Karmak customer can immediately begin exchanging documents with multiple companies within the heavy-duty truck industry. Information including current customer lists for both of these exchange services is available from their websites: HDeXchange and Corcentric.

Testing is expected to be complete by the end of April for the following documents:

850  Purchase Orders Inbound  Outbound
810  Invoices  Inbound  Outbound
852  Sales Out Data Outbound
855  VMI Suggested Order Inbound
832 Product Information Data Inbound

Karmak's new EDI software is expected to be available for general release by late April or early May.
