Enhancements prevail in INFO 5 Release 7.0

Enhancements were included in nearly every module of the INFO 5 System.

  • An option was added to the work order processing functions to allow the client to determine a process of rounding up labor hours from Menu ASERV, options 2, 5, and 8, based on a message member setting.

  • A new procedure now allows clients to use bar code scanning hardware to clock mechanics on and off work orders. This enhancement will print bar code labels as badges for mechanics and print a bar code on work order hard copies, reducing errors and saving time.

  • A Miscellaneous Purchase Order can now be created and attached to a work order or counter ticket. Miscellaneous Purchase Orders provide a computer-assigned purchase order number for any department and the ability to link the purchase order to a specific counter ticket or work order.

  • A Lease Contract suspense option has been added to Menu ALEASE, Option 13 Review and Close Contracts when the necessary billing information is not available.

  • A new parameter added to USIC gives clients the option whether or not to include the tire tax credit in the sale price.

  • A program added to USIC Report Writer allows clients to create reports that will output to a disk file.

  • A program enhancement was created to allow INFO 5 to send or receive files from any File Transfer Protocol (FTP) server.

  • Several programs were created for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), which is a standard developed between the federal government and a wide variety of industries to communicate business transactions in a standard format. This program enhancement is currently available through Karmak for clients working with Yellow Freight and for those working with American Freightways.

  • To facilitate ethernet connectivity to the AS/400®, the work station file process was modified so it does not depend on a static work station ID. If a System failure or error occurs, clients will have the option to select a recovery file, to delete the recovery file or to create a new work file.
