The system console always signs on to subsystem QCTL. If clients use the system console as a regular terminal without logging off each day, the date displayed on the terminal will be the date of the last sign-on, not necessarily the current date. This explains why the incorrect dates appear on work orders, counter tickets or journal entries made from the system console.
The safest course of action is to avoid using the system console as a regular terminal altogether or remember to sign it off and back on each day.
