Some of the new features included in this
release are:
- IMPROVED EFFICIENCY -- You can now
submit ALL of your orders (stock, emergency, filters, etc.)
electronically from within your business system. NO MORE
REKEYING ORDERS into another system, or printing them out and
faxing them to your Caterpillar distributor. Parts with
special documentation and processing requirements (e.g.
hazardous materials) are automatically grouped on separate
purchase orders.
- FASTER ORDER TURNAROUND -- Your
orders will have fewer errors and will be filled much faster
by your Caterpillar distributor. Your stock orders will
effectively flow directly to the Caterpillar Distribution
Center. You'll have fewer occurrences of missing the cutoff
time for order submittal in order to receive next-day fill.
Emergency orders are submitted in REAL TIME, meaning they
print at your Caterpillar Distributor within a minute or two.
- MONTHLY PRICE UPDATES -- You will
now receive revised pricing and new parts information monthly
instead of semi-annually, and the updates will be downloaded
to you from Caterpillar automatically by your INFO 5 system.
So, you'll have much more consistent buying and selling rates
- meaning MORE PROFIT!
- MORE PARTS INFORMATION -- For the
first time, you will have ready access to information
"within your INFO 5 system" on items such as package
quantities, parts supersession, Reman parts options, etc.,
rather than having to sign on to another Caterpillar system or
calling the Caterpillar distributor.
To take advantage of this latest release of
the Caterpillar module, you must have INFO 5 Release 7.1 or higher
and OS/400 V4R5M0 or higher on the AS/400 system, and an Internet
connection accessible to the INFO 5 business system.
