In order to ensure optimum functionality of
the INFO 5 software, it is necessary for Karmak to maintain our
development systems on supported versions of OS/400. Therefore,
INFO 5 Release 7.2 has been developed to run under OS/400 release
V5R1 and later versions. Certain features of INFO 5 Release 7.2
are incompatible with earlier versions of OS/400.
If you are using OS/400 V4R5 or lower, and
if you have not already done so, Karmak encourages you to make
plans for upgrading to the latest version of OS/400 that your
AS/400 will support. Karmak's Sales and Systems Support
departments can assist you with determining which OS/400 version
is right for your system. Upgrading your OS/400 version now will
allow you to take advantage of the many new enhancements contained
in INFO 5 Release 7.2 when it becomes available in the near
future.
It is important that you begin the discovery
process now so Karmak can assist you in determining what is
required and what issues you may face to get your OS to current
levels. Karmak has made every effort to compile the latest IBM
pre-upgrade and upgrade-process information to help you plan and
perform your upgrade in the best possible way. With this
information, several Karmak customers have performed OS upgrades
with minimal impact, and tips from their experience have been
incorporated into the information we have compiled. If after
