"For our size organization, the GoldMine
and Karmak program were a perfect fit," said Eric Snyder, IT
Manager for Trudell Trailers, with two locations in Wisconsin, one
location in Minnesota, and a total of 65 computer users.
"Although GoldMine was not the most expensive package, it gave
us the biggest bang for the buck."
GoldMine combined with Karmak's INFO 5 allowed
Trudell enough flexibility to customize the system to fit their
needs. Trudell added tabs specific to the needs of their trailer
business.
"The bonus for us was the fact that
Karmak was building connector software to communicate between the
business system and GoldMine," said Snyder. "After our
experience trying to design it ourselves, it is a complicated and
expensive piece. And, the interface we had built for Trudell was not
reliable."
Currently, Trudell runs the 7.1 release of
Karmak's INFO 5 on a 270 series AS400. In moving to GoldMine,
Trudell purchased a new Dell server to run the SQL version of
GoldMine. Ten thousand customer records were transferred to start
the database, which included more than 600,000 pieces of customer
history. Trudell anticipates nearly 20,000 total customers and
prospects by the time they have completed the system over the next
couple of months.
For Trudell, the Karmak connector piece,
Customer Profile Interface from the new ProfitMaster™ series, was
the determining factor in going ahead with the GoldMine CRM project.
It has allowed Trudell to connect its existing customer database to
GoldMine. The ability to connect to the existing customer database
allows the last year of historical data to be forwarded to the
GoldMine contact records.
Karmak recently launched Customer Profile
Interface to help dealers and distributors focus on customer trends
by tracking buying patterns. By determining customer trends, you can
improve your understanding of customer needs, thereby reducing lost
sales. Customer Profile Interface enables easy access to information
by collecting recent customer sales data from Karmak business
management systems, where it can be viewed in GoldMine.
"We have been very pleased with the
results in using the Customer Profile Interface, and consider it a
valuable piece to our successful CRM implementation," said
Snyder.
