The Social Security Administration will accept the W-2 data only on specific types of media:
- 900-2400' 1/2" round reel
9 track at either 1600 or 6250 BPI
- 3480/3480E or 3490/3490E cartridge tapes
18 track at 38 KBI
- 3 1/2" diskettes created under MS-DOS double density or high density operating system format
